|
|
Hi,
I've created sidereal Astrology charts* by adding the Sid. Time and subtracting one Zodiac Sign from the Tropical Planetary positions. I notice some differences in the Sidereal chart created by Kairon, especially the position of the Moon.
Are these differences created by the House system?
Can I turn the House Calculations off?
* by hand - using the Swiss Ephemeris, and the American Ephemeris _________________ Thanks,

Never mind my Houses question, I found the Null option to turn them off! Right?
New question:
Does the Kairon app use the Swiss Emphemeris?
Is there a way to change it?
Here's why I ask:
On 5 August 1973 the Sid. T. listed in the SwissEphemeris is 20 53 37,
the Sun is at 12°Leo26’12,
added together they = 33˚Virgo19'49.
Subtract one sign and you get 3˚Leo 19' 49.
Kairon says the Sidereal location of the Sun is 18Can48'24. _________________ Thanks,

i don't know if i am getting you right, let me try an answer:
house positions and planet positions have NOTHING to do with one another. if you go for Null houses, it is definitely less irritating for you.
planet positions are calculated in generally two ways,
a) tropical: asuming when spring begins it is 0° Aries of the sun
b) sidereal: asuming that the sun seen in the sky occupies a definite position among the stars seen, and said position differs from authority to authority, there is no consense you can actually stick to. Kairon offers you a set of 21 preset sidereal theories, ordered by poplularity. Indians seem to use Lahiri most, westerners seem to prefer Fagan Bradley. You find those sets in the preferences under "System".
There has not yet been any consensus in the tropical/sidereal discussion so far, the best way to approach it is to accept that two different methods of calculation imply two different sets of interpretation. _________________ Kilian |
